The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on charities has been huge. With events cancelled and publicity dwindling, revenue streams that are the lifeblood of the industry have been seriously affected.
This challenge was not lost on Zita, a governance and change consultant, who has come up with a paw-some way to raise money for Santander’s charity partner, the Alzheimer’s Society.
“In the current climate, charities are really suffering as most of their income is derived from big social events and our famous cake sales,” she explains. “I wanted to come up with something that would raise money for charity where friends and family could get involved and have fun in a safe way.
“That’s where the idea of an online pet show came about.”
All creatures great and small
The online pet show gives animal lovers the opportunity to enter the apple of their eye into different categories and raise money for the fight against dementia in the process.
“The pet show is open to all creatures great and small and you can enter as many categories as you like. Each category entry is £2, or if you’ve got lots of pets, it’s six entries for £10. Even if you don’t have a pet, you can still donate and share the link with friends and family.”
So, what are you waiting for? Take the lead (ahem) from Zita and her four-year-old Landseer Newfoundland, Gibbs, and get involved.
