Meet Stephanie– a creative, plant-obsessed animal lover whose ideal job would be working as a professional dog cuddler. Get to know her a little bit better below.
What did you want to be when you were younger?
As an animal lover, it was the standard answer: vet. Until I realised all the animals would be sick. Then an architect and apparel designer … not sure how I ended up in banking!
What was your first job?
At a bakery when I was 14, earning £3 an hour. Living the dream.
When you’re not at work – or social distancing – what’s your favourite hobby?
Right now it’s plants! I’m growing seeds on every windowsill and taking the lucky few that survive down to my allotment as part of my daily exercise.
What’s the funniest thing that’s happened when you’ve worked from home (if you do)?
While I was on a video call my partner walked past shouting how bored he is. Definitely got some chuckles.
What is your greatest personal achievement?
Showcasing my graduate collection on an industry-wide catwalk in Covent Garden.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Ask for forgiveness, not for permission.
Describe yourself as a teenager in three words?
Awkward, funny and creative.
Who would play you in a movie?
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Sunshine and going to see how much my seedlings have grown!
If you could switch jobs with someone, who would it be?
Professional dog cuddler, for sure.
Do you have a podcast you regularly listen to? If so, what is it and why?
I’m currently listening to Tanis – great supernatural docudrama.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Reading cheesy historic/romance books.
